The head coach of Accra Great Olympics, Annor Walker has hinted his former skipper Gladson Awako is likely to return to the wonder club after an unsettled start to life at his new club, Hearts of Oak.
Coach Walker confirmed his desire to bring back Awako to Olympics following the brouhaha surrounding his deal with Hearts of Oak in an interview he granted earlier this week.
It can be recalled that Annor Walker described the former Olympics captain as his “kingpin or his assistant coach” last season in the Ghana Premier League.
The duo however went separate ways after Hearts of Oak purchased the player from their Mantse rivals,Olympics.
“Honestly I’m worried for him, because he is my son and I made him who he is today so it’s my wish that management of Great Olympics will return the money and let Awako return to the club. He informed me that he is not happy moving to Hearts and he is not ready to play for Hearts, and he wished he is with me and I’m doing my best to convince management to accept the money and let my former captain return and play for me again,”
The Black Stars B trainer described the deal between Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics as a wrong deal hence he pleads to the management of Olympics to do whatever it will take to bring back the midfielder.
The contract between both clubs was a bad contract and for that matter you can’t sign a contract which has clause stating that, before 2nd October, 2021, Hearts must pay the transfer fee or else the player won’t join them. That is not good, so management have to consider the circumstances and allow the boy to re-join them otherwise the player will not play in the upcoming season.
Gladson Awako sealed a dramatic transfer from city rivals Great Olympics to the rainbow club and yet to feature in any competitive game for Samuel Boadu’s side.
