Ningo Prampram Member of Parliament, Sam Nartey George has once more reiterated his stance by standing against the legalization of the Anti-LGBTQI bill in Ghana through an interview with CNN Journalist Larry Madowo.

In a very comprehensive interview with the Journalist, Sam George Uphold “The Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values, Bill 2021,” he presented to Parliament for approval.

Deliberating on the disagreement on hormonal treatment to conversion therapy, Larry Madowo questioned the Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram Sam Nartey George that, the proposed Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values, Bill 2021 is equivalent to Conventional therapy which is taken into account toucher by UN experts. He further pushed to ask if he (Sam Gorge through his bill wants to toucher people within the name of curing homosexuality)?

In response to the question, Sam George iterated that, hormonal treatment is the same as conversion therapy, but Larry opted saying he doesn’t know the precise difference but deferring to UN definitions.

“If you’re not a doctor and that I am saying to you, that we’ve spoken to experts here in Ghana and there’s nothing different because conversion therapy may be a hormonal treatment and that i am saying to you that when individuals choose on their own volition to alter their sex, they undergo hormonal treatment.”

On the topic of clamping down on people needing to live an open life and seeking a 10-year jail term, the lawmaker accused the journalist of not reading the bill before happening to quote relevant portions of the bill.

“Well, you haven’t read my bill. it’s misinformation to mention that anybody who is found guilty of homosexual gets a jail term of 10 years, that’s a misconception you’re peddling and you must not do this on a global platform,” he submitted before reading the relevant section of the bill seeking a five-year jail term.

Are you simply a hateful person? – CNN Journalist Larry Madowo questioned.

“That may be a defeatist approach to solicit from me an issue that’s a defeatist line of questioning. That i’m a hateful person,” Sam Nartey George deplore. I can not be described per se when the identical bill made adequate room for respecting the rights of the LGBTQ activists.
