Accra Hearts of Oak were the Champions of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season, they clinched the Ultimate title with 61point ahead of their rivals Asante Kotoko.
The continental club master ones again have dominated in the NASCO player and coach of the year, after dominating the Ghana Football Awards some months ago. Ghana premier league champions Accra Hearts of Oak Head Coach Samuel Boadu and midfielder Ibrahim Salifu have been named as NASCO Coach and Player of the season respectively.
Boadu beat off competition from Great Olympics’ head coach Annor Walker, Asante Kotoko head coach Mariano Baretto, Ashanti Gold head coach Vladislav Viric and West African Football Academy head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum to win the coveted award for the just-ended Ghana Premier League season. Coach Samuel Boadu Joined Accra Heart of oak from medeama during the end of the first round in the Ghana premier league, Samuel Boadu took Accra Hearts of oak from the 5th position on the premier league table and help the team to win the premier league.
Samuel Boadu guided the team to 14 games unbeaten in all competitions, he also won the most points more than any other manager in the league when he took over as Hearts of Oak head coach. He won the coach of the year at the Ghana Football Awards and he was also named the 9th best club coach in Africa.
In a keenly contested race for the topmost award, Ibrahim Salifu emerged top with the Ghana premier league top scorer Diawusie Taylor who won the goal king with 18 goals, former Great Olympics captain Gladson Awako, Benjamin Afutu and WAFA talisman Augustine Boakye all in the race for the best player of the season honours.
Ibrahim Salifu joined Accra Hearts of oak from Eleven Wonders during the season, he won the local-based best player at the Ghana football awards some months ago. Ibrahim Salifu who played in 33 league games, he won 8 NASCO most valuable player of the match ( MVPs), he scored three( 3) goals and he also assisted in 8 league goals. The Best player of the season received a NASCO shopping voucher worth GHc5000, a personalized trophy and a weekend stay for two at a plush hotel.
Coach Boadu also received a NASCO shopping voucher worth GHc8000 and a trophy.
Managing and Sales manager of NASCO Electronics Mrs Adiza Kubrah Ibrahim Abu who presented the awards stresses that the company rewards excellence hence the decision to honor the player and coach of the season.
“We congratulate the coach and player for their splendid performance in the season and we urge them to aspire to win more in the coming years”, Mrs Ibrahim Abu stated.
Though not part of their initial package, NASCO also announced an award package for the league’s goal king Diawisie Taylor. Taylor received a NASCO shopping voucher worth GHc3000 and a trophy for his heroics in the just-ended season.
