Black Queens and Ampem Darkoa Ladies midfielder, Sonia Opoku has opened up on her assessment of the just ended 2020/2021 Women football season.
According to the 18year old, she failed to hit her personal target for her club even though Ampem Darkoa Ladies did well in the ended season.
In an interview with Samuel Kusi- Appiah, the 2021 Women FA Cup player of the year revealed that she had wanted to win the double (league tittle & FA cup) for her side as a personal target which failed to materialize.
“I couldn’t hit my target, i wanted to return with a great form and also win a double(League and FA cup trophy) with Ampem Darkoa Ladies “
“We started the season very well and i don’t understand how we ended without a trophy”.
Sonia further revealed that they would have to work harder to be able to meet their expectations in the upcoming season.
“When you lose two finals to a same team, you have to put in much effort. You should know what you did within that season wasn’t enough and we need to put in extra effort for the next season.
We are going to redeem our image by winning the double next season”
Ampem Darkoa Ladies lost both the Women Premier league final and the Women FA Cup final to Hasaacas Ladies in the 2020/2021 Women football season.
