Minister for Roads and Highways, Akwasi Amoako Attah has given an assurance to the Member of Parliament for Tain constituency, Sulemana Adama, saying that government is working to fix roads within his constituency.
His assurance follows a question that was posed to him by the Said MP due to the nature roads in communities like Badu, Seikwa, dibebi all in the Tain constituency which is noted for producing cashews which accrue revenue for the state.
The MP for Tain constituency, Sulemana Adama in an earlier interview while lamenting about the poor roads in his constituency, had appealed to government to ensure that they are fixed.
According to him, due to the nature of these roads in the various communities like Badu,Seikwa, dibebi which are noted for producing cashews and accrue revenue for the state, are not operating effectively since farmers are plagued with post-harvest losses.
Using the appropriate process to get answers to these worrying issues, the MP hence filed a question asking the Minister for Roads and Highways what plans there are to construct the following roads.
Responding to the question, Mr. Amoako Attah explained that with regards to the Badu road, the project which was awarded has delayed unduly since every effort, including warning letters to get the contractor back to site had proved futile.
However, he gave an assurance of future programme that have been put in place.
