Residents of Bubuashie cry over poor road network

BY: Rukiya Amidu

Residents of Bubuiashie have expressed devastation over the situation of road network in the area. They lamented to the Adoa news team about the roads which have been in such bad state for years without any effort from the MCE or member of Parliament to address their concerns despite several complaints.

According to some residents, it is appalling and awful when it rains and commuters refuse to use the road. This, they say is coupled with some related problems during the dry season where they have to inhale dust which sometimes poses threats to their health.

The residents cried that, the bad nature of roads have brought untold hardship on them and that many precious lives have been lost on the road as a result of increasing numbers of road accident. The residents and drivers in an interview with an Adoa News Reporter stated that;

“The road is very bad, it has destroyed our cars, we are really suffering to the extent that armed robbers take advantage of the situation to rob us. I pray this problem is resolved after it’s been aired” says a taxi driver from the area.

Another resident: a storekeeper lamented over low patronage due to the dust. “People complain of my product being old due to the dust. The Mp and the assemblyman promised to fix it; after we vote for them, we did our part but he is failing to honour his part. I’m planning to block the road to avert cars passing, I think that will tell them how serious we are, what hurts me is upon all the letters we have sent they still have not done what we need.”

A resident named Osei says he has tried all he can to fill the potholes. “This road has destroyed all our things including our rooms. We have done our best by filling the potholes with stones but still. We urge the government to come to our aid because we are really suffering”.

The residents and drivers urge the government to hear their voice and reconstruct the road for them since the Mp and the MCE have turned a deaf ear towards their roads.
