The Minority Spokesperson who doubles as the ranking member on Parliament’s Health Committee, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh says the ultimate alternative to the decline in the recent Covid-19 cases is by mass Vaccination, proven by experts.

According to him, 1,573 new cases were recorded on 4th July, with 2,247 on 12th July.

Addressing the parliamentary press corps on the issue on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, he lamented that deploying 7.9 million doses of vaccines was the initial plan of the government but unfortunately, only one million people have been vaccinated and this is worrying.

He also stressed that although the president keeps hammering on the country’s commitment in conducting vaccination, this hasn’t reflected his actions.

Furthermore, another worrying and sad part of it all is the fact that mass testing has also been halted

He called on the government to address the general public by updating them on the progress of the affected people who contracted the virus as a matter of urgency.

Mr. Akandoh in the same vain also urged and encouraged Ghanaians to adhere to the COVID-19 safety protocols, to ensure their safety.
