About sixty (60) military officers have invaded the Wa township in Upper West Region and unleashed their anger on the residents.
The rampaging military officers in a video intercepted by Adoa news were seen harassing and running after road user’s who were about their daily business without informing them what their crime was.
Over 60 military men have evaded Wa in what looks like a man hunt harassing residents and road users without due cause
Reports Adoanews has gathered is that, their action was triggered after unkown tricycle driver in the Wa township bolted away with one of the officers’ mobile phone. Hence the cause for the Rambo search
The Public Relations Officer of the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council, Cletus Awuni who happens to be a victim confirmed the incident to Adoa news, stating that the military invaded the Wa township without the concern of their superiors.
According to him, the military personnel did not spare anybody during the rampage, adding that, they removed people from moving tricycles which is popularly known in the Upper West Region as ‘Camboo’, and beat them.
Mr. Awuni noted again that some of the victims were made to lay on their stomach under a scorching sun, whilst they were been kicked by the military.
He however indicated that, the Regional military commander denied having knowledge about the act.
News reaching us again is that ,the angered military personnel have since returned to their base, at the time of this report.
