Residents living in low-lying areas downstream in Accra like Adabraka, Circle, Odawna among others are likely to experience flooding this year with the onset of rains.

This was revealed by the Head of Drains at the Hydrological Services Department under the Works and Housing Ministry, Seth Kudzordzi. Speaking to Adoa News’ Isaac Otoo said, although several mitigating measures have been implemented to ease flooding with the ongoing desilting and construction of major drains under the GAMA project funded by the World Bank in upstream areas like Teshie, Dome, Kasoa among others until some bridges at Rawlings Park, Graphic road, Abbosey Okai are replaced, Areas like Adabraka, Circle and Odawna will continue to experience flooding anytime there’s a torrential downpour.
