Students of the Ghana Institute of Journalism have been denied entry into the school after management issued a communique saying students who paid their school fees after the deadline of payment are to defy their course.

Reports gathered by Adoanewsonline indicated that, few hours after receiving the directive from management, affected students began issuing how difficult it was for them to even pay their fees even after the deadline. Most are agitated as to which deadline management is speaking of because the deadline for the payment of fees was changed twice during the period.

Giving specifications to the various changes on the deadlines, a concerned student asserted that, the first change was made on December 2020 to 8th January 2021 while the second was from 8th January to 25th February 2021 and this information was published on 5th February 2021.

She said the confusion sets were vivid because on the students portal the deadline is 8th January 2021, not 25th February 2021 as per the last directive issued on 5th February 2021. Meanwhile, some agitated students arrived on campus to meet with management on their decision but they were denied assess into the facility. The said directive came in yesterday evening as students have only a few days before their examination begins on Monday, March 29.

According to the student body, they find the said directive “preposterous” and are therefore deciding to send a petition to the management body today 24th March 2021, inclusive with names of affected students.
