Two referees banned from officiating for the rest of the league season

The GFA Match Review Panel has announced three decisions on complaints received from Clubs in the ongoing league competitions.

The GFA Match Review Panel has announced three decisions on complaints received from Clubs in the ongoing league competitions. There have been a lot of controversial officiating decisions surrounding the Ghana league this season which has resulted in chaos.

The GFA Match Review Panel has today taken a decision on the reported match officials pending their appeal. The GFA Match Review Panel has taken a well-investigated decision on three(3) match officials and is still investigating more reports coming to them. Officials involved in the ruling are center Referee Eric Owusu Prempeh, Center Referee Isaac Bassaw, and Assistant Referee one A.F.Zakari.

Center Referee Isaac Bassaw and his Assistant A.F.Zakari have been banned from officiating for the rest of the season after Wassaman FC complained about an officiating decision to disallow a goal they scored which resulted in the abrupt end of the match. Per the video watched, the Committee found that the decision of the referee was wrong and Wassaman should have been credited with the goal.

The Committee also found that the performance of the referee and his Assistant One contributed a great deal of negativity in the game which finally resulted in the abrupt end of the match.
