Independence Day celebrations suspended

The Office of Chief of Staff and President Nana Akufo-Addo have directed that this year’s 6th March celebrations and all its related activities be canceled.

The directive is in line with presidential measures of avoiding large gatherings as the country continues to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. Consequently, in a press statement dated February 15, the office said the Ghana Education Service has suspended the 64th Anniversary celebrations nationwide.

To this end, all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Education Directors and Heads of all schools have, through their Regional Education Directors, been asked to comply with the directive.
