The Ghana Meteorological Agency has cautioned the public to prepare for an intense harmattan season in the coming days.
In a press released, the Agency noted that dust has elevated from a regional source and is expected to advert into the country of which will deteriorate surface visibility.
“dust has been raised from the source region (around Chad) and is expected to avert into the country of which will deteriorate surface visibility”.
“This may occur due to influx of dry and dusty continental winds, the northern half is expected to be drier to a relative humidity of less than 20% and below 50% over parts of the southern sector,” the statement added.
However, Following the Press release by Ghana Meteorological Agency, the PRO for Ghana National Fire Service, Ellis Robinson Okoe has urged Ghanaians to be cautious of the use of naked flames and gadgets within this season.
He advised the public to pay much attention to naked flames especially the burning of waste products in these times. The Ghana National Fire Service is fully prepared and up to the task he said.
