Minority leader Haruna Iddrisu has expressed disappointment over the president’s failure to tell Ghanaians that the economy is in a recession during his address.
The President while delivering the State Of the Nation’s Address today Tuesday 5,January,2021 indicated that, setting to work, they were able to stabilize the economy and exist satisfactorily the IMF program.
“We set to work quickly, and, I am glad to say that, we have been able to stabilize the economy, exit satisfactorily the IMF program, and restore confidence in the economy.”he said
Meanwhile in response to the President statement, the Tamale South legislature Justified saying, the economy from the IMF sources will end at a dept of 297billion with 24billion being spent on dept. He objected the President’s claim that Ghana’s economy is on course since inflation rate and high cost of living among other factors reveal a gloomy picture of the economy.
He again bemoan that, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo did not touch on issues of lives loss during the December 7th Presidential and Parliamentary Election.
