Court Slaps NPP GHC14,00 over Sene West Seat

The Wenchi Court in the Bono Region has dismissed a case filed by the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP) against the Electoral Commission(EC) and the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) on the Sene West Parliamentary Elections.

Parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party Joseph Markay Kuma filed a suit at the court due to unpleasant irregularities in electoral processes in the constituency. On Monday, the court awarded a cost of ¢6,000 against the NPP parliamentary candidate for withdrawing their petition for the interlocutory injunction. Likewise, on Thursday, December 17, 2020, the court also fined the NPP Ghc14,000.00 for wasting the time of the court.
