Madina MP concedes defeat, expunge decision to go to court

Member of Parliament (MP) for Madina constituency, Alhaji Boniface Abubakar Sadique has expunged his decision to challenge the parliamentary results of the December 7 polls in court.

According to the Minister of State, the decision was influenced by the realization that his agents on the ground let him down.

“The most important thing is that the President has won”

During the declaration of the 2020 parliamentary results, it was revealed that the incumbent MP lost the Madina seat to his opponent Francis Xavier Sosu of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) by a margin of over 15,000 votes.

Thus out of the 110,403 total votes cast, Francis Xavier secured 62,127 votes, defeating Boniface Saddique who had 46,785.

Speaking in an interview with the press outside the chamber of Parliament on Monday December 14,2020, Hon. Sadique said he has  accepted his defeat  in good faith but wishes the constituents are able to enjoy the development he made  them benefit  over the past four years.

He indicated that his focus now is what he has to do to help the NPP party to ensure they remain in government in the next 20-30 years.
