We are losing business – Abossey- Okai tyre dealers

We losing business-Ghanaians

Ghanaian Tyre traders at Abossey- Okai have lamented over the slow run of business due to competition with Chinese.

“Chinese Tyre operators here in Abossey-Okai have now become retailers instead of wholesalers” they bemoaned. According to the Ghanaian traders, the Chinese Tyre companies who formally sold at wholesale prices where retailers buy from have now become retail outlets stifling the business of Ghanaian retailers.

They suggested that the Government must come out with directives that will limit the activities of the Chinese as only distributors while they become the retailers. Another trader also made it known that the tyre business at Abossey-Okai was no longer as lucrative as it used to be due to the high influx of dealers into the tyre retailing business.

He added that if the government refuses to come to their aid their business and source of income will be taken over by the Chinese.
