Speaker of Parliament, Mahama, Chief Justice, others sign Rawlings’ condolence book

The Rt. Hon Speaker of parliament Aaron Mike Ocquaye, the Former president John Dramani Mahama, the chief Justice Kwesi Anim Yeboah among others have signed the book of condolence opened in memory of the late President Jerry John Rawlings at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The officials signed the book of condolence, pouring out their heartfelt words to the statesman.

Jerry John Rawlings who was the first president for the 4th republic was disclosed to have died in the early hours of Thursday, November12, 2020 at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

To this effect, many leaders around the world and other Ghanaian personalities have poured in their tributes to mourn the former President.

In view of this, the book of condolence was opened in memory of the late President Jerry John Rawlings at the Accra International Conference Centre on the 16th November 2020.

High ranking officials including Speaker of Parliament, Prof Mike Oquaye, former President John Dramani Mahama, Chief Justice, Kwasi Annin-Yeboah, President of the Ghana Bar Association; Anthony Forson, have all signed the book of condolence.

Daughter of the former President, Dr Zanetor Rawlings, her siblings and family members also visited the centre to sign the book.

Again, in attendance was the delegation from the United Nations headed by its Deputy Secretary General, H.E Amina J. Mohammed.

Furthermore, the chief of staff, members of the council of state, Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu and some members of parliament were at the Accra International conference center to also sign the former president’s book of condolence to pour out their heartfelt words to the statesman.
