A fire has gutted the cathedral clinic and lab located on the high street and adjacent Cadbury and the Enterprise insurance company.
The fire started a few minutes to 6 pm on 5th November 2020 but the cause of the outbreak is currently unknown.
According to the youth of Jamestown, the fire started a few minutes to 6 pm and they did all they could to douse the fire but all attempts proved abortive until the fire service got to the scene around 6:45 pm.
It took the fire personnel more than an hour to douse the fire that gutted the hospital complex.
An eye witness said: “We were in the office when we heard sirens so we came to peep from the window and all we saw was fire coming from the cathedral clinic.”
Police and fire service were present at the scene to protect property and keep order but no report of any casualty.
It is reported that the clinic currently runs in the day without night shift. As at the time of the fire only the caretaker was present.
Our lenses captured a fire tender with leaking hoses, lack of ladder to climb the building to douse the fire, among other things.
Fire personnel cautioned the crowd to move away from the building for fear of collapse but the youth were adamant.
The fire service were able to douse the fire at around 7:41 pm.
