Nigeria’s Minister for Works and Housing Babatunde Fashola has found a camera at the Lekki Toll Gate of Lagos State after the shooting scene.
After several cleanup exercises, the LAWMA and volunteers they did not notice any hidden camera at the Toll Gate until the minister and south-west governors were assessing the affected area during the protest on October 25.
Using a cloth,Fashola picked up the camera which he handed to the governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo- Olu with the motive that the device will be of help in the investigations. This kept the people of Nigeria wondering how the device was found by the ministers and not the people who cleaned up the place.
According to the minister, the hidden camera they found is going to help them in the investigation ongoing at the Toll Gate concerning the shooting and damage of some public buildings and facilities.
Speaking on the shooting at Lekki toll gate, vandalism, and looting, he said:
We are deeply concerned with the ease with which public buildings, utilities, police stations and investment of our people have been burnt despite the proximity of security agencies in those areas. The development leaves us with no other option than to believe that there may be other reasons for continued protests, well-coordinated and funded.
