The newly inducted Ga Mantse and President of the Ga Traditional Council King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II has received a claimant of the Ga Mantse stool, Nii Tackie Oblie known as Nii Tamale II and the elders of Abola PIAM who paid a courtesy call on him at the Ga Mantse Palace to smoke the peace pipe.
The gesture seeks to end the long-standing Ga chieftaincy dispute which has rocked the Ga kingdom for decades.
Speaking at the ceremony held yesterday at the Ga mantse stool house, Nii Tackie Oblie II said he has accepted Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru as the legitimate Ga Mantse who has been given the mandated as the true leader of the people.
In the early hours of the rainy and frosty Sunday, 11th October 2020, the elders of Abola ushered the Ga Mantse Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru into their abode in a process known as “shamɔ kɛ shia mli woo” which signifies their acceptance and acknowledgement of his nomination and installment as the King of the Ga state.
Earlier in the previous weeks the Abola Piam We have been to the Greater Regional House of Chiefs and the law courts to withdraw all legal issues as well as any misgivings they may have had with him or the stool.
Apparently Nii Tackie Oblie was a claimant to the stool but has secured a vital support from a principal clan and gate within the Ga state
