James Town fisherfolks express dissatisfaction over current location

Fisherfolks in Jamestown Accra have expressed mixed reactions over the construction of a new harbour at the old fishing site.

According to the residents, they find it very difficult to cope with the new location, “Korle Naa” because most of their personal belongings as well as some working tools are been damaged by the sea.

The sixty-million dollar Chinese fishing harbour grant project is expected to create employment for residents of Jamestown, boost trading activities and increase revenue not just for residents but for the country.

However, fisher folks and fishmongers who were relocated from Jamestown to Korle-Naa have expressed dissatisfaction over the new change.

According to them, the new location isn’t helping them and as such need government’s interventions.
