History: Bible society of Ghana began full operation in 1965 under Nkrumah – Rev. Charles Adu Twumasi

The Programs and Church Relations person for the Bible Society of Ghana, Rev. Charles Adu Twumasi says the Bible Society of Ghana is the center for the distribution of bibles nationwide and their main objective is to make sure bibles reach every home in Ghana. 

Speaking to Adoa news during an outdoor broadcasting program dubbed “A DAY IN BRITISH ACCRA” Rev. Charles revealed that the Bible Society of Ghana is a non-denominational and non-governmental Christian organization based in British Accra, Ghana. 

He said the organization registered under the Trustees Act, 1962 of the Republic of Ghana is the largest Bible distribution organization in the country. The organization translates, publishes, and distributes Bibles at affordable prices and promotes its use to transform lives. The organization has the vision of reaching every home in Ghana with the word of God in any dialect they understand, he added.

He disclosed that In the late 1950s and early 1960s Rev. Prof. Baeta, Mr. A. L. Quansah and Mr. E. S. Aidoo discussed and established the national Society with others and opened its head office, called; The Bible House in 1956.
