Confusion over Supreme Court Ruling

The Supreme Court has given the Electoral Commission the green light to continue its plans to compile a new voter register ahead of the 2020 elections.

However, the has been a strike of confusion among parties that are involved in the case challenging the use of the current voter ID an essential proof of identity in the upcoming voter registration due to supreme court Rulings today.

This, however, left the parties involved divided over whether the Court upheld the use of the existing voter ID card as proof of identity for the purposes of registration or not.

Whereas officials of the NDC believe the ruling went in their favour, officials from the Attorney General’s office argue otherwise.
