Coalition of Aggrieved Customers of menzgold are calling on President Nana Addo to sack SEC boss, Rev. Daniel Ogbaami Tetteh, with immediate effect.
According to a statement released and signed by the leadership of the coalition, the security and industry ACT 2016 ( act 929, section 123, a2) mandated the Security and Exchange Commission, SEC to have written to menzgold to refund their monies before shutting the firm down but the reverse was the case.
Also, since September 2018 when menzgold was shut down by SEC, customers staged various demonstrations to drum home their demands thereby forcing the government to order the court to freeze the assets of menzgold and NAM1.
This decision and actions have led to the death of about 55 victims.
They are therefore calling on His Excellency the President to sack the Security and Exchange Commission boss, Rev. Daniel Ogbaami Tetteh immediately for his unprofessional negligence and bankruptcy which the statement claims
is dangerous to the society and customers.
Customers say the SEC Boss lacked respect for Act 929 section 123 a(2).
They stressed that the total silence on the part of menzgold made by SEC and BOG to protect their investments before the shutdown clearly shows that, the SEC boss had no respect for human lives and economic investment of Ghanaian people hence, the call for his dismissal by his excellency the President.
