Minority leader renews call for EC to be summoned before parliament

The Minority leader Hon Haruna Iddrisu on Friday 5th June has again renewed the call for the EC chair to brief parliament on its road map towards the 2020 election.

The Minority lamented that the Majority did not touch on that whiles presenting the memorandum on the business statement for the house for the fourth week ending Friday 12th June 2020.

He therefore requested that the Rt. Hon Speaker evoke order 53(2) of standing orders rule to summon the Electoral Commission before parliament.

The Majority Leader Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu however noted that the Electoral commission has indicated earlier on is on a regional assignments of which the commission is expected to be back in Accra on June 15 and be in the House on June 16 for the briefing

But that he noted would be too distant a time considering the business before the house including the urgency of the matter.
