18 Club Division One League Approved By Congress – Takyi Arhin

Former CEO of Eleven Wonders, Takyi Arhin says 18 club division one league has been approved by congress.

The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has taken a decision to form a 5-member committee for the implementation of the transitional provision on the number of participating clubs in the National Division One League.

The decision to set up the advisory committee is in compliance with Article 81(6) of the GFA Statutes 2019.

Since the announcement was made, several club owners and administrators in the division one league have opposed the move describing it as harmful to their survival and inimical to the growth of the game.

However, former general secretary for Techiman eleven wonders disagrees with such claims saying the proposal was already done by the normalization committee and was accepted by congress and does not understand why people are raising eyebrows

Furthermore he made reference to article 81(6) which was accepted by congress and will be implemented in the next two years.

When quizzed whether it was an attempt by clubs to ignore this format he said it was discussed at congress and accepted does not know why they want to set an agenda against the FA president

He went on to suggest that this is not a time for campaign, Kurt is the GFA president for the next four years, and they should be abreast with the rules, regulations and statutes of the FA and wake up from their slumber.

‘’People can’t accept that Kurt is the GFA president, they should either take it or leave it, wake up from their slumber and accept reality, if you quarantine them for one month and put all the rules and regulations in their head they will still continue to do this kind of things he opined.’’
