Let me borrow the keyword of our president Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo, “Fellow Ghanaians”, it saddens my heart whenever I watch a video of our Member of Parliament, Hon Barbara Ayisi Asher dashing out a huge sum of GH10,000 to some group of youth for a gym.
Like seriously, there I ask a question, does Hon really care about us? No! Personally, I think it is a big no. I am not against the gym but I would want to state without any fear or panic that it is a waste of state money and needless move in this corona time.
With all dues respect, is this woman aware of the number of veronica buckets, sanitizers, face masks and PPEs that this money can buy?
As a member of Parliament whose aim is to serve your constituents, do you think the best thing to do now is to give out GH10,000 for a gym construction?
Please, is everyone in Cape Coast North having the face mask? What of hand sanitizers? How many veronica buckets do we see in the various markets in Cape Coast North, especially Abura Market?
Yet, you have enough money to construct a gym centre. Lord, just have mercy.
This is a wake-up call for all of us, even the Senior High School where you were teaching is still struggling with potholes and dusty road as well, yet, you think a gym is what we need now. Or are those boys your macho men?
In fact, this is the time to show this woman the red card. She does not really know what she is supposed to do as a Member of Parliament and the road is clear. Go and come no more, return to your teaching job or better still, get some hairdressing saloon to operate.
Raga is the choice please I am calling on all well-meaning and fellow Ghanaians in Cape Coast North to rally behind Dr Kwabena Minta. He is going to turn things around.
