Abronye DC defends allegations against Mahama

Kwame Baffoe Abronye, The Bono Régional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party who is known in the political world as Abronya DC, has written to the Criminal Investigation Department of Ghana Police Service, defending allegations he issued against former President John Mahama.

Abronye was sighted in Net 2 saying Mahama and the NDC were plotting to assassinate some NPP members.

It is recalled that the former President’s lawyer , Tony Lithur had written to the Criminal Investigation Department on behalf of his client John Mahama saying Kwame Abronye made allegations against Mahama during an interview on Net2 TV.
Mr Lithur also wrote that Abronye DC accused Mahama of killing President John Evans Atta Mills.

He stated ” His Excellency John Mahama has firmly instructed me to say that the allegations are false and for avoidance of doubt, would like to state that neither the NDC nor he planned to hire, hired or cause to be hired or instructed any persons of person to murder or assassinate anybody”

But Abronye DC in his dated letter on May 11, says a politician of his caliber cannot make an allegation or claim without evidence.

He also stated ” following from the above, I wish to state categorically that a politician of my caliber acknowledging very well the laws of this country, I will never make any statement, allegations without the necessary evidence having at the back of my mind that as a legal norm in Ghana and other Commonwealth countries, he who alleged must prove.

He also added that Mahama’s letter to the CID has proven to him that the former President has no respect for Ghanaians and the Police Service because of his complaint to the police service which in his paragraph 3 of his letter described me as a person with an unhinged mind”
