This is not the time for old-fashioned partisan politics – minority leader to vice president

The Minority leader Hon. Haruna Iddrisu have stated that the impact of COVID-19 on our economy has been most devastating hence it is not the time for old-fashioned partisan politics and infantile name-calling.

This follows the Vice president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s statement earlier this week comparing dumsor to the coronavirus under the watch of formal president John Dramani Mahama.

Hon. Iddrisu noted that this is the time to rather focus every attention on the national crisis which threatens the very foundation of our society.

The Minority leader disclosed that the latest update- a staggering 3,091 confirmed cases is the second-highest in West Africa after Nigeria which has reported 3,145 cases although we should be worried when we compare our population to that of Nigeria.

He, therefore, iterated that this troubling development should serve as a wake-up call that the time for wishful thinking is over.

Quoting former President John Dramani Mahama, He said “Hope is a comfort, but it is not s strategy”
