Gov’t must desist from giving false hope- Haruna Iddrisu

The Minority leader Hon. Haruna Iddrisu has beckoned on government to desist from selling false hope to Ghanaian with the claim that the situation is under control when it not.

The Minority leader noted that this is an insult to the intelligence of the Ghanaian people and makes a mockery of the seriousness of the situation.

Addressing the press, he noted that candour and consistency must be the order of the day including testing, tracing, monitoring and isolation where necessary must be a daily routine.

Hon. Iddrisu lamented that what the Akuffo Addo’s led government must know is that their apparent choice of facing this pandemic as a lesser priority than a real crisis management efgort will ultimately be exposed.

He said “we in the minority have absolutely no desire to witness such a failure because the cost will be counted in Ghanaian lives and Livelihood”

Furthermore, the minority leader stated that if the containment strategy Government has wed itself to unravel any further, the brunt of this burden will fall on the frontline health care workers.

And this he emphasized will reduce their courage and competence which will be the last defence for many of our countrymen who will face the worst of this disease.
