COVID-19: 17 Cases hit the Oti Region

The Oti region have recorded 17 cases of the Coronavirus pandemic.

This has been confirmed in records when the president gave his 8th nation address to the Nation.

The President Nana Akuffo Addo noted that the 17 cases tested positive were as a result of interceptions near Nkwanta by officers of the immigration service and other security personnel of 2 cargo vehicles that had onboard a total of 67 passengers who were illegally entering the region from Accra during the lockdown.  All 17 came out positive to COVID-19 after been tested.

President Nana Akufo-Addo has extended the ban on public gatherings including religious activities and funerals by an additional two weeks.

The President made this known during his eighth address to the nation on the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in the country on Sunday, April 26, 2020.
