Helen Tetteh, administrator of the Maamobi General Hospital has debunked reports of selling Personal Protective Equipment to staff of the hospital.
Reports in the media on April 22,2020 were that, the staff were angry for purchasing PPEs.
It also said, Health workers at the facility can only get access to PPEs only after paying 5cedis in the wake of this pandemic.
Some health Workers have threatened to withdraw their services in the fight against the virus if the government doesn’t provide them with enough PPEs.
Their calls were heard as the government made provisions of these PPEs.
However, Ms Tetteh says their stores always make available PPEs to staff on regular basis and admitted that they have limited resources and will need more from the government..
Ghana has started manufacturing PPEs with some five local companies.
Covid-19 cases in Ghana as of April 23, 2020 is 1,154 with 120 recoveries and 9 deaths.
