President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kurt Okraku has confirmed to government that its Soccer Centre of Excellence can be used as an isolation centre in the country’s fight against the deadly coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking at the Ministry of Information’s press briefing Kurt Okraku revealed that as part of the GFA’s support for government’s fight against Covid-19 as the federation offers the facility to be used free of charge.
The Soccer Centre of Excellence offers 250-bed facility to the government in the fight against the pandemic.
About a week ago, following the announcement by the GFA offering the Prampram facility to be used, the youth in Prampram embarked on a demonstration claiming the virus could spread in the town.
The Centre would serve COVID-19 patients from Greater Accra, Eastern and Volta regions, taking into consideration its strategic location.
