President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said that health workers within the lockdown areas will enjoy free, ‘Aayalolo’ buses to convey them to and from work, along specific routes, for the duration of the restrictions.
In his 5th televised address to the nation, President Akuffo Addo announced that an insurance package with the sum of GH¢350,000 for each health personnel and allied professionals at the forefront of the fight against the virus has been put in place.
He continued by saying daily allowance of one hundred and fifty cedis (GH¢150) is being paid to personnel helping as contact tracers.
The President added that government has decided that all health workers will not pay tax on their emoluments for the next three months, April May and June.
He also stated all Frontline health Workers will receive an additional allowance of fifty percent of their basic salary per month for the next three months.
