President Nana Akufo-Addo has disclosed that government will determine whether or not to extend the lockdown imposed on parts of the country next week.
According to him, the decision will be based on results of the over 19,000 tests being conducted during the contact tracing exercise.
Addressing the nation in a live broadcast on Sunday, April 5, 2020, the President indicated that, the situation will be driven by science and available data to enable Government to make a decision.
President Akufo-Addo noted that 15,385 out of 19,276 contact persons had been reached through contact tracing and their samples have been taken.
Government has since partnered with the Ghana Academy of Arts and Science as well as the Center for Scientific and Industrial Research to boost its fight against COVID-19 he added.
