Declare Mass Testing of People as an Approach, Noguchi Alone Cannot Run Thousands of Sample a Day – Anfred

Reporter/ Producer at Adoatv and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Anfrebeats.com, Mr. Fredrick Anebo, known in the media industry as Anfred has urged the President of the Republic Nana Akuffo Addo to declare an open mass testing as an approach in curtailing the spread of the virus.

According to him, Noguchi alone as a body cannot run thousands of samples within a day, neither can they alone run tests on all citizens in the country.

He said, in order to avoid misleading results, he suggests the president allow for mass testing to enable the government to know the number of people that are infected with the virus.

Below are his statements:

Mr President, it is commendable of the approach and precautionary measures you are putting in place to combat the pandemic, COVID-19.

It is very alarming of how quickly the virus is spreading from two (2) cases recently to twenty (21) giving a tremendous signal that the situation is not getting any better.

My question is how can this virus be prevented or curtailed when the government do not even know the number of people who might be infected but are hiding or walking unknowingly?

It befouls me when this country was very laudable in situations of elections, voter ID cards, NIA identification and others, but “outsmart” less in giving much inputs in securing the lives of the citizenry.

Why won’t the Government of Ghana declare an open mass testing at every polling station, hospital, pharmacy, school, workplace and any other vantage point deemed necessary across the country to accumulate records to detect people who are affected to enable easy quarantine?

There might be many who might have been infected, but the process we are practising now is sick and come in approach in detecting the virus.

Why won’t the government emulate South Korea? There are many nurses who have graduated without jobs. The government should employ them and empower them to run mass tests on individuals and forward it to the laboratory for results.

Noguchi alone cannot run thousands of samples within a day, neither can they alone run tests on all citizens in the country.

In order to avoid misleading results, Mr. President allow for mass testing to secure a safer Ghana.
