We inherited a collapsed financial sector- Nana Addo

President Nana Addo has argued that his administration inherited a troubled banking sector hence the clean-up.

We inherited a collapsed financial sector that has led to failing banks, and considerable agony to many people. He said.

The government is having to conjure thirteen billion cedis(GHC13BN) to pay the 4.6 million affected customers of the bank. He added.

Prez Nana Addo indicated that the banking sector cleanup has led to the sector being capitalised.

The President said this during the 2020 state of the nation address which happens to be his fourth and last in his first term as the president of the republic.

His address is per Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana and the Standing Orders of the Parliament of Ghana.

The address is to update Ghanaians on the government’s progress and outline plans for the next financial year.
