Rawlings Never Fly Under the Adomi Bridge – Air Commodore Pumpumi Reveals

1979 headline story indicating that former President Jerry John Rawlings fly a helicopter under the Adomi Bridge has been disputed by Air Commodore Kwame Pumpumi.

According to the retired security tycoon, there is no truth in the story and that, it is even not possible to fly under such a bridge.

The former President is on record to have flown under the Adomi bridge in Atimpoku, an incident many have described as outstanding from the former flight lieutenant.

Speaking to Abena Opokua Ahwenee on Accra based Dadi  FM morning show, Air Commodore Pumpumi, who was a former teacher of former President Rawlings, has, however, debunked the story that has been circulating over the past decades.

On the issue of a crash plane of the Ghana Armed Forces on Wednesday, 23rd January 2020, he indicated that it is an only a thorough investigation that can unravel the cause but was surprised there was no pilot with the engineer on the plane at the time of the incident.

He emphasized that a pilot could have been able to control the plane if there was one on it at the time of the servicing.
