The Minister for Trades and industry, Alan Kyeremanteng has disclosed that theAstek company limited in the eastern region of Ghana will commence operations in April 2020.
Mr Kyeremanteng indicated that the company is expected to create a minimum of 60 direct jobs for the youth in Nsawam Adoagyiri and its surrounding communities.
The minister also added that the company will purchase the produce of pineapple farmers in the community to enhance their income and improve their livelihood.
He assured that the ministry will continue to provide all incentives and support for factories under the one district one factory initiative.
“The ministry has also assigned a consultant to work with the business promoter to enhance operational performance for the achievement of the company’s objective “he added.
Mr Alan Kyeremanteng said this on the floor of Parliament in an answer to a question asked by the Member of Parliament for Nsawam Adoagyiri on plans been implemented by the Ministry of Trade and Industry to revive the Nsawam Astek company limited.
