The Chiefs and People of Anlo in the Volta Region have on Saturday, November 2, 2019 climax the celebration of Hogbetsotso festival with a grand durbar.
The purpose of Hogbetsotso Zā is to commemorate the successful escape of the Anlo’s from the wicked King Agorkorli from Notsie to their present-day location.
The theme for the 2019 edition is Uniting Anlo through its value for the benefits of its citizens and the nation at large.
Its is aimed at fostering unity among the people to ensure development.
The festival which is celebrated every first week of November by the people and chiefs of Anlo in the Volta Region of Ghana saw the people display their rich culture and tradition.
Also some performances by people of the neighbourhood Togoland.
This year’s festival was marked by 36 communities within the Anlo state.
Personalities who were present include Former President Jerry John Rawlings and John Dramani Mahama including other important dignitaries.
