National Migration policy – government on course in its implementation

The minister for interior Ambrose Derry has stated that Government is in the process of implementing the National Migration Policy.

The policy when implemented will help manage Ghana’s internal and international flows- in the context of the national development.

According to the minister, a proposed roadmap has also been developed with an amount of GHc 620.000 been factored into the 2020 budget.

The international organization for Migration has indicated its willingness to support the ministry with $40,000  in this regard, he added.

Hon. Ambrose Derry further said his outfit has received proposals on nominees from relevant stakeholders to consider the establishment of the migration commission.

The minister disclosed this on the floor of Parliament on Wednesday 29th October 2019.
