The Minority in Parliament has hinted of alleged illegal recruitment of personnel’s into Ghana’s security agencies under the Ministry of Interior.
According to them, the immigration service is hoping to recruit 700 junior officers and 150 senior officers.
Adding that some persons were invited last week in suspicious circumstances for medical screening for the purposes of recruitment.
Speaking at a press briefing today in Parliament, the minority called for immediate cancellation of the secret recruitment exercise embarked upon by the police, prisons and immigration services in 2019.
They further tasked President Akufo Addo to take immediate actions to root out any from of illegality in the recruitment process of security personnel’s in the country.
Meanwhile, the Vice-chairman person of the defence and interior committee of Parliament Parliament Collins Amankwah has debunked claims by the Minority in Parliament that government is illegally recruiting some persons into Ghana’s security services.
According to them nothing of that sort is ongoing in either the Police, Immigration nor the prisons service.
