Publications Officer for Ablekuma Municipal Assembly, who doubles as the Regional and National communications member of the NPP Government Mr Evans Amihere has stated emphatically that, the NPP Government did not access some documents about the PDS contract from the previous government.
Speaking on the morning show, This Morning on Adoatv with Reginald P. Robertson, Mr Evans Amihere indicated in reference to 5th August 2014 as when the NDC initially entered the contract between the government of Ghana and the United States of America.
Addressing Reginald Robertson, Mr Evans Amihere further indicated that, the supervisory board which includes the MCCE was inaugurated by former President John Dramani Mahama.
However, the NPP Government has made a subsequent decision to use another competitor to the PDS.
Addressing the decision, the Institute of Energy Security (IES ) has objected to the decision of the Government, indicating that, the restrictive tender will bring a worse outcome.
In a press statement, it indicated that any effort to secure the process will likely produce a worse outcome than the initial one.
Meanwhile, General Secretary for the National Democratic Congress NDC, Mr Johnson Asiedu-Nketia has hailed the NDC party as playing major lead role in terminating the deal with the PDS.
In a press statement, he indicated that the NDC’s role in the PDS Saga entrenched it as a “Credible” stakeholder in the fight against corruption.
