Jose Mourinho will be back at Old Trafford again for Man United vs Liverpool in the Premier League this weekend but only as a pundit.
Sky Sports pundit, Mourinho will be in attendance for the second time at Old Trafford this season to cast his eye over United’s ninth league game of the campaign.
Mourinho returned to United for the first time since his dismissal in December for the 4-0 opening weekend win over Chelsea and also analysed their September defeat to West Ham from the Sky studio at Stamford Bridge, where Liverpool beat Chelsea.
United have won five of their last 23 matches and have endured their worst start in 30 years and Mourinho opined last month they are worse than last season.
“They are far behind,” Mourinho said. “It’s difficult for me to answer. I have been there two seasons where I could feel lots of positive things and I could feel the direction to go through.”Then obviously the third season was not good enough. I was sacked, probably deserved to be sacked, because I am responsible as manager.
“But the sad reality is that they are worse than before. And for me that is a sad thing, maybe people think I’m enjoying the situation but I’m not enjoying it at all. “I have people in the club I love, I have lots of respect for the fans and, for me, it’s really sad because when a team is ‘boring’, you are boring but you still get the result. But at this moment I don’t see anything.
“I think they are going to really, really be in trouble to get not just into the top four but potentially in the top six. I think this team is worse than the team of last season.”
Jurgen Klopp is yet to win his first match against Manchester United at the old Trafford after all his four encounters ended in draws.
