Boris Johnson pledges no checks near the border in Northern Ireland

Britain’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson has delivered his keynote speech to delegates on the final day of the annual Conservative Party conference at the Manchester Central convention complex, in Manchester, north-west today.

He is expected to announce proposals that would see “two borders” erected, one down the Irish Sea and another between Northern Ireland and the Republic.

Boris Johnson says the Conservatives support the British military and will “look after our veterans”.

He added that it is the job of the Conservative government “to unlock talent in every corner of the UK” to boost the economy.
