Ofori foundation academy won the second edition of the babyjet U16 tournament

Ofori Foundation Academy beat kasoa base division two side Cheetah Fc 3-2 to win the second Edition of the BabyJet U16 African Championship on Wednesday at the Accra Academy Park.

32 teams participated in this year’s Edition with clubs coming from other African countries to compete for the Ultimate.

The Kumasi based side owned by Black Stars midfielder Ebenezer Ofori was a delight to watch as they controlled the game from start to finish.

Ofori foundation Academy took the lead through William Ofori in the 28th minutes while Sulemana Rahim equalized for Cheetah Fc in the 67th minutes.

Ofori foundation Academy started strong in the second half and scored two goals in quick succession before john Batigi got one back for the Kasoa based division two side.

Ebenezer ofori Academy produced the most valuable player of the tournament in William Owusu in the second edition of the Babyjet U16 African Championship tournament whiles the top scorer went to Cheetah FC John Batigi who scored five goals in this years edition.

Elisha Danso of Bisty Academy won the Best Goalkeeper of the tournament, Prince Annor of Cheetah FC won the best Defender and Gideon Yeboah won the best Midfielder of the tournament.

The BabyJet U16 tournament offers a huge career opportunity to many such hidden talents in the hinterlands and the cities.

Selected players will have the opportunity to undergo successful trials with clubs in Europe.
