Actor and movie director Eddie Nartey has tasked television stations to priorities local content over foreign ones on their channels.
He said local movies can generate more investments and advertisement than foreign content does.
He said he believes the focus of TV stations on the foreign content has contributed to the fall of the industry as viewers are now more interested in the foreign content.
He further explained that the TV stations do not like to buy the local content but rather strike a bargain or do a barter trade which barely benefits the movie producers
He stated that although the stations want local content providers to compete with foreign content on the channel, the situation is more about prioritizing local content than the competition.
He called for the sharing of local content and urged stakeholders including the televisions stations to put a priority on the local movies to help promote it.
