Brawls break out in South African Parliament

South African parliament today became a boxing ground for two political parties who had a misunderstanding on a debate.

The debate, ‘Removal of Government’, which lasted for 20 minutes, left two Parliamentarians for the Economic Freedom Fighters, party, (EFF) and the main opposition Democratic Alliance party (DA) in a brawl.

The incident occurred after the leader of EFF, Mr Julius Malema, introduced a debate about in-sourcing in governance.

EFF leader Malema was walking back to his seat through the DA benches when he suddenly turned around and strode towards the Member of Parliament for the DA party, Mr Ghaleb Cachalia.
