What has gone wrong, Mr President and Mr roads and highways Minister?

The first gentleman and president of the land, His Excellency President William Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, on last year September 14 to 17, as part of his annual regional tour, visited the Central region.

I, KAKA, was among the press corps who were with him.

I did my best to report about 98% of all the events that happened throughout the president’s visit.

His first stop was at Komenda on the 14th September and ended the tour at Winneba in the Effutu Municipality on the 17th September.

Prior to President’s visit, the Komenda roads (from Komenda junction to Komenda Township & from the township to Komenda College Of Education Komenco) had been awarded to contract and works had already started some months ago.

I do remember on the very day(14th September 2018) around 3 pm when we (the entourage) were entering Komenda township, workers numbering about 20 were seen in their working gears with reflectors at the roadsides working assiduously perhaps to please the president and his team.

At the durbar at the Komenda lorry park, which was attended by among others, the Omanhen (Paramount chief) of the Komenda Traditional Area (KTA), Nana Kodwo Kru II and most of his sub-chiefs.

The Omanhen in his address among other things thanked the president for the introduction of the ‘free SHS’ and also spoke about the Komenda Road and the Komenda Sugar Factory (KSF).

Among the President’s entourage was the honourable Roads and Highways Minister, Kwasi Amoako Atta, he was asked to respond to Nana’s road appeal.

The honourable minister who sounded optimistic assured the chief and the people of Komenda that the contractors had been given ONE YEAR to complete the works on both stretches.

“Nana, as the sector minister I’m happy to tell you that your roads will be finished in 12 months…… I can see it is on your heart so you will surely see it done……..and it is not here (Komenda) alone, there are other places to that we’re going to work on…..,” Mr Kwasi Amoako Atta said in twi amidst cheers from the crowd.

During his turn, Mr President also reiterated the same……

In fact, the one-year timeframe announced by the sector minister didn’t go down well with me because as a layman, looking at the distance of the road, it shouldn’t take a contractor 12months to complete (ie. it should take less than 12months).

I had an invitation from my alma mater( Great Komenstec) as a Special Guest to a handing over the program they had On March 29 this year….. And I ‘cried in my heart’ for I couldn’t believe what I saw on the stretches especially from Komenda township to komenco and komenstec. No worker nor the contractor was seen at the site (I remember I posted some of the pictures on my WHATSAPP status and Facebook timeline…. for the benefit of those who didn’t view on that day, I’ll attach some to this post…” that are those with inscriptions ‘kakapix’).

To truncate my seeming chaff writeup, last Saturday was exactly 12months when President and his team visited and promised the people of Komenda.

In order to acquaint myself with the current development, my team visited the road on last Friday (13-09-2019) and pictures from there are also attached to this piece with watermark inscription ‘Abrowahpix’.

So as ‘a citizen, but not a spectator, I want to ask the President and Mr Amoako Atta what has contributed to their seeming failure to execute what they promised the people of Komenda.

Sadly, Nana Kojo Kru II on last Saturday at a durbar to climax their annual nyeyi festival asked the MCE and the deputy central regional minister the whereabout of the contractor

So again, WHAT HAS GONE WRONG, MR PRESIDENT AND MR AMOAKO ATTA?

Next will be on the sugar factory’s strategic investor🙏🏼
